  IATEFL Global Issues SIG Pre-Conference Event, 5 April, 2005, Cardiff, UK - Teaching English, Teaching Peace

This one-day collaborative workshop aimed to combine both theoretical and practical sessions on the design and development of materials for use in the “global classroom”. Michael Goethals, Sheilagh Neilson and Jake McClure used principles of CLIL, webquests and video to raise their learners' awareness of core global issues such as human rights, social values and responsibilities, caring for the environment and developing intercultural competence.
