GISIG is organising a competition to write an article of 500 – 1000 words on the topic ‘Global Issues in the ELT classroom’.
Prizes will be:
- free attendance at our GISIG PCE in Glasgow for one GISIG member, and
- free membership for a year of GISIG for one IATEFL member who is not a GISIG member
You can write about teaching learners of any age: children, adults, university students; in the public or private sector; in well-resourced or low resource classrooms; about any global issues-related topic(s) eg. raising awareness of the global refugee crisis, renewable energy, gender issues, food, clothes. We will print the winning entries in our December GISIG newsletter and as many of the others as we can in subsequent newsletters.
Please email entries on a Word Doc attachment to [email protected] by 1st October 2016, together with a brief biodata of up to 30 words about you and your teaching context, and an optional head and shoulders photo. Up to 4 relevant images can be included at the end of the article. The competition will be judged by the GISIG committee.
